Hope you’re all as well as possible? I have SLE, long story short, after a bad case of multiple sites of shingles at the same time which hospitalised me for over 7 days. My rheumy adjusted my dose of hydroxy form twice a day to once a day, ever since I have been struggling with my lupus symptoms. On my box of hydroxy it says take once a day of an evening? I’m wondering would there be more benefit of me taking it if a morning? So it’s in my system during the daytime , helping me more with the fatigue and painful joints? Any info or you’re experiences would be useful 💜

Hi W I might ask pharmacist for a better understanding of how dosages may be most effective....
I do split mine am & pm. but I believe this med stays in your system for a while & may not have the same impact if it's once a day...also I eat with it, to help from getting heartburn so that may have too be taken into accounts at when is best...ml
Hi Wishie, Sorry to hear your symptoms are getting worse on the lower dose. I’ve been on Hydroxychloroquine for 6 years now - started on twice per day and for last year on 1 tablet three times a week. I always take mine after breakfast and so far have not had any problems. I suffer with reflux so morning suits me best. Hope this helps. Take care.
Dear Wishie - we are all different. I found taking it at night better because the only brand we seem able to get NHS caused bowel problems ! I am on 1 a day. Always take it with food or immediately after. It is a slow acting cumulative drug so if you take it any time it will not matter. Good luck
I forgot to say, I have permanent shingles unless I take just one Aciclovar tablet a day. I was on 3 daily but have got it down to one. You might ask for them - shingles was what led me to get a Lupus/Sjogrens diagnosis.
I take mine in the morning since the dose was reduced without any probs. Best wishes in getting sorted
