Lupus insurance

Hi. Recently diagnosed and need help. Has anyone been diagnosed a year after I bought a house so took critical illness insurance.

I had to answer a significant amount of questions when applying for mortgage insurance 18 months ago. I have cutaneous lupus and the insurance company were unaware of the condition. I had to provide permission to write to my GP before insurance was provided. It took a few weeks for confirmation to come through too.

Hi. Yes that’s right I’m looking to claim but am confused as it says severe complications and for myself some days are worse then others and I thought lupus can’t have a defined severity.

It is true that lupus presents differently in everybody, therefore, no two people will share the exact same experience.

If you are looking to make a claim, I assume that lupus is affecting your ability to carry out daily tasks increasing its severity? It would be best to check with the insurer to see if lupus is covered as part of your insurance policy as not all health conditions are covered.
