Hey guys, I'm planning on travelling to Spain next year & Thailand in 2021, just checking to see if anyone as had any issues with travel, due to health & meds, did your travel insurance cover anything & did you need letters off your consultants?
Thanks x

Hi I have been travelling to Spain for 6 years I have had no issues in anyway. I have SLE,Addisons and these are the main listed .and ask if you have been hospitalised within a space of time. Andyour meds. And usually I have a print out if my meds to cover if things change but it’s never been required it may change with us leaving Europe but just check with the airline.and when getting the ravel insurance it’s not that much more expensive,
Travel in Europe has never been a problem with my meds although brexit may introduce different rules in the future. Further flung destinations can be different. I’ve just been to South Korea and Japan and for the latter I needed to carry a doctors letter setting out my conditions with a full list of medications. Also needed to carry my medications in their original packaging/ boxes. I’ve also had to answer questions about my meds on a routine immigration check on entering the US on one occasion. Checking with the government sites for travel eg fit for travel, gives you a useful summary for individual countries
