Anyone have experience of drinking tamarind tea?

I happened to post a photo of my lupus rash on social media. A Jamaican relative suggested I drink tamarind tea, which is widely used in the caribbean for skin conditions by the elders. It's not something I'm familiar with and wondered if anyone has any knowledge or experience of using it?

As with any complementary therapy or supplement, I would recommend that you discuss it with your consultant or pharmacist first to ensure you are aware of any potential adverse effects or interactions with other treatments. I believe that this can interact with aspirin and ibuprofen which are commonly taken by people with lupus.

That's interesting. This was something recommended by a relative so I was just exploring really. I work in a hospital so it would be quite easy for me to have a word with a dermatologist of rheumatologist to see if there are any concerns with trying it. I appreciate the heads up though.
