I just thought I would post this. As some of you know I have been quite unwell for a while now.
I saw Dr Ellie Korendowych in Bath on the 4th October who rediagnosed me with systemic Lupus.
She wanted to start me on Methotrexate but due to me having so many infections I have been unable to start it yet. Am having a chest Xray on Thursday and if that is clear I can start on some treatment.
Only this week have had problems with my dry eyes. They became extremely painful with a blinding headache. I saw the optician who said I had severely dry eyes which he is referring me to an opthamologist for treatment. My eyesight has also deteriorated.
He wanted to send me as an emergency but because my parents were away I persuaded him against it.
I was just wondering if any of you are having similar difficulties.

What a terrible time you're having Lucy...it's my instinct to say if the optician says an emergency referral that's what it should be...opticians are trained to spot wide range of things. Be strong, be well xxx
Just want to say I'm sorry your having a lot of problems but I'm so glad your seeing Dr Ellie at Bath. She is a great Cinsultant and it looks like she's really on your case with the re-diagnosis of lupus and treatment!. I wish I could see her as she trained at Bristol and then moved to Bath. I did see her then and thought how easy she is to talk to and proactive!.
Eek is right if an optician says your an emergency then you must go to eye clinic as one. Our eyesight is precious and as your having a lot if problems you need to go quickly!. Keep us posted how you get on. Xx
I'm so pleased you've found her in view of your other experiences. She's not afraid to treat if bloods haven't revealed anything but symptoms have!. She's got the right confidence for it!. She was so good Bristol wanted to keep her but she went to Bath!. Good luck tomorrow, it's so important. I'm sorry your so poorly. Keep us posted. Xx
I feel rather lucky to be honest. I did my reserach and found her. My sister lives in Bristol so makes it easier going to Bath. Have got a chest Xray on Thursday. The last time I had one had a chest infection with no symptoms. Fingers crossed for Thursday! Xxx
I think Wrexlu you'd earned it because of your past experiences. Fingers tightly crossed for Thursday and no chest infection!. Amazing you can have one with no symptoms!. Xx
