Hi folks, a friend sent me this.
Anyone had experience with it?
No experience with it but interesting that it's been used as a detox drug to wean heavy drug users off of drugs and alcoholics off of alcohol.
People who have also followed detox methods to control their diseases are John Gray who wrote Men are from Mars, Women are from Venus, who has Parkinsons and Dr Ben Johnson who has Lou Gehrigs Disease -ALS.
Is there something that needs detoxing from autoimmune patients?
I too am interested to hear if anyone has experience of LDN.
If you are a Facebook user then there is an apparently trustworthy closed group called LDN for Autoimmune and Cancer or something like that. In UK there is a GP doctor who, once you have accessed it, will help on phone with dosages etc I believe. I haven’t had the courage to do anything other than join the group so far. But I am experimenting a little with CBD oil.
Can you message me any links you have. I am not on Facebook myself but with the correct links my fella may check it out for me.
Sorry I don’t actually have any links or info as I am not ready to try something not approved like LDN yet - nor take the word of a random doc over the phone about dosages. The LDN FB Page is international and is manned by a PhD biochemist with Sjögren’s. He slightly freaks me out with his furies about Sjögren’s and the medical community but he does know a lot about the science, B and T cells etc and believes Sjögren’s to be a neurological disease rather than a rheumatic one - he seems to loathe rheumatologists the world over. In fact I think there are two men who admin this committee - might well be worth joining FB just to access the latest thinking re LDN I guess. But you seem good at research at least so I’m leaving it to you! 😊
I am not entirely sure if i am ready to try it, but have heard snippets about it before. And it does seem to come up in certain things I read. So possibly worth investigating a bit further. I will have a look at Paul's link as well.
I don't just jump into anything, nor do I believe others should. But thanks for the info anyway.
Hi AmyG6500 ,
If you have a look at some of the past posts on this site you can read about a couple of people who have experience of taking this medication - healthunlocked.com/search/p...
i'm taking this. you should try it if you have SIBO. to test for that you need your gastroenterologist to get the breath test, then if you are positive they could prescribe LDN to increase movement from small intestine to the colon. you woudn't feel dramatically different, but since i have been taking that i didn't have any major lupus flares (last 2.5 months) so i'm staying on it in case this is what's contributing to my good streak. i didn't have any side effect and i'm taking 4.5 mg
Hi Amy, wondering the same myself - just prescribed for me. I've read some papers on it and have been impressed. Patients on other forums seem to have had very good results too.
