Move it or lose it! But take someone with you when you do 😜

Hey everyone!

I hope you are all having a fine day and enjoying the sunshine β˜€οΈ. Yesterday I finally got to go for a hike. My PT finally cleared me last week, mostly because I wasn't asking permission but wanted to be out in the 🌲. Of course there were conditions etc., but we made it 1.4 miles (2.25km) slowly and to be honest it felt like hours of PT. Today I am really feeling it and I slept 11 hours. Nonetheless I am ecstatic to have been out in nature, hiking and enjoying the pines and scents, πŸ¦… eagles and even the barn spiders with their intricate webs.

I also have a lot of information to bring back to my neuro PT on Tuesday which he translates and sends to my specialist. It's a win-win I think. I get outside to improve my mental and physical state and bring back data for my specialist team who actually listens to me.

The photo is a woolly bear caterpillar I found on the trail. They can survive in up to -90 degrees Fahrenheit . Beauty! I encourage all of you to take a few moments to move outside and find something to appreciate, whether it's nature or art or somebody's smile!

That fuzzy critter can be found all the way in the arctic and can predict the weather. If the middle stripe is narrow- it will be a harsh winter. If it is wider, as in this example- milder winter. These guys hibernate and they actually freeze until the weather gets to 50 degF when it wakes and spins a cocoon with its fur πŸ›πŸ¦‹.

That's great. Thanks for the wooly bear info - looking it up, it seems that several states in the US hold "Wooly Bear Festivals". Sounds like my sort of festival! x

Thanks for the info on festivals. Looked them up and unfortunately, none of them are in the PNW. The last place I lived had a Spam festival with a crowned πŸ‘‘queen πŸ‘ΈπŸ» and her court of maidens.πŸ˜†πŸ°

Wish we were woolly bears and could hibernate from end of October to end of March!!

Only if we could live double our lifespan so we got the same number of months out of this life of ours ,but with better weather!

Life is still sweet despite our struggles .

Spent a week in the autumn glories of Perthshire, am having pay back time now but nature is always magical and gives us so much back. xx

Maybe we could work in that hibernation time to be the time in between specialist appointments so no time is lost and pain is not felt. After all, the woolly bear completely freezes until it warms to a suitable temperature πŸŒžπŸŒΈπŸ˜‰πŸ˜˜
