my temperature is going up and down like a yo-yo for the last week . It usually happens at night around bedtime and spikes at 2am then I take paracetamol to bring it down. I am bucketing sweat. Today it's 38.9 and I just don't know what's going on or if I should see my rheumatologist. Has this happened to anyone?

Have you spoken with your GP? I imagine that might be a starting point. They would probably be in a better position to do an intial assessment eg for infection x
I have low grade temperatures and sweating issues and especially had them prior to immunosuppressant treatment. For periods of time (usually a couple weeks at a time) my temp would go to 37.6 and then back down again about 40 minutes later. I would start sweating for a couple hours at a time any time of day. I would just report this during my regular rheumy appts. For me, it was explained to likely be all part of my connective tissue disease, which is thankfully lessening quite a bit while on the immunosuppressants.
However, I note my little fevers did not go to the highs you are reporting. So I agree with whisperit that getting to the GP is a good idea. You might have something else going on. Or, it could be your particular version of systemic autoimmunity?
