Hi kideny 😊🌸🌿🦋

Welcome to the forum dear.

😴💤😴💤😴💤😴💤

The type of mattress always depends on health conditions.

Does your hubby have connective tissue disease like Ehlers Danlos or arthritis???

I was told by my Rheumatologist that FM sufferers don’t do well on soft surfaces. In the beginning of my FM I didn’t have furniture that was firmer to sit on...it increased my pain.

You have to remember that we are all unique individuals and we respond that way to the conditions we develop. What may work for me/others might not for your hubby.

🌈💦🌈💦🌈💦🌈💦🌈

Wherever you live is there a mattress store with displays that your hubby can visit and try out the different firmnesses personally??? This would be your best bet, however take into account that store displays do wear with every person that tries them and a new one will usually be firmer than the display.

I’m across the pond in the USA 🇺🇸 and we have a store called Sleep Number that sells expensive airbeds full sized (for 2) that you can adjust both sides of the bed independently with air to accommodate your independent preference of firmness. I priced one and literally gasped when the price popped up. 😱 It wasn’t an option for me.

I hope this info was helpful and should you like to keep in touch I would love to help however I can. 😊

I’m sooo sorry your husband has FM. With proper care rest pacing stress reduction and love he can do well.

There is a world renowned clinic here known for excellence for diagnostics and care.

If you go to mayoclinic.org look up Fibromyalgia it will explain about this condition and hopefully answer most of your questions.

Take care and abundant blessings dear.

Just to say thank you for your reply my husband has had f m s for over 7yrs but it has been getting worse now for him with regards to sleeping. Will look into the advise from the reply I have had because we live in the UK it's hard to find a store that can offer what I need for Mark I have seen on site in America who sell the matress we need but they don't deliver to the UK.

Ohhh kideny

I’m sooo very sorry that the USA doesn’t deliver to the U.K.

Have you contacted the manufacturer to see if they deliver internationally??? Sometimes they do have that market too.

I do hope you’re successful in getting him one dear.

Best wishes and take care.

The way we get a good night's sleep (both of us having health problems) is by having separate single mattresses on our double bed - and we have separate duvets too. One doesn't bounce around when the other is restless and my duvet is MINE!! They are also much lighter and easier to change the covers as well as being easier to move around with painful hands and legs. It is a good reminder of why we have it like that when we spend nights in hotels or at family and have a "normal" double bed - a poor night's sleep and struggling with bedclothes. The frame is a large double and we have one fitted sheet so we can't lose stuff down between the mattresses ;-) There are companies that make mattresses that are separate - and can be different firmness - that zip together.

go to Bensons Beds, they helped me enormously, I have Lupus and was having same problem. They have a machine that measures what mattress is best. I have a pillowtop mattress and I sleep much better since getting it. In fact I was sorted the very first night xx
