at the moment, I am really poorly, have been in bed since Saturday and am so fed up. I just want to know what is wring with me, I feel like I have flu. In the past I have had symptoms for about 2 years, aches & pains, joint pain, headaches, I have the butterfly rash only after being out in the sun and have had high White blood count and high lymphocytes count for nearly 2 years. I am having trouble with my breathing and seen to pick up every bug going. What is wrong with me, so fed up. Xx
Hi, I am very confused my old G.P thought had lup... - LUPUS UK
Hi, I am very confused my old G.P thought had lupus, he is now retired and I have a new one, who I find rather intimidating.
Sorry to hear you are feeling so unwell. I would make an appointment with the GP and take a trusted friend or family member with you. The new GP will have the notes from the old one. Make a list of questions beforehand and make sure you get them answered, you could be having a lupus flare and need treatment. Good luck xx
I am sorry to hear you are having such a bad time. I also think you need to be seen by your new GP or ring the hospital and speak perhaps to the rheumy nurse for advice. I have also changed GP's recently due to moving and my notes have still not gone through from my previous GP's surgery.(Yours may be quicker) If your new surgery has other dr's can you not ask to see one of them? If you get worse particularly with breathing go to A&E. I have had similar in the past and had my steroids put up to 40mg. I agree, take a friend with you and a list of questions. Please get seen - it sounds as though you are having a lupus flare. Hope you feel better quickly x
Hi So sorry to hear your so poorly I agree with the other 2 posts, I ahd terrible trouble getting diagnosed it took them around 3 and a half years!! in the end I saw a different doctor in the practice who was such a help to me, I also asked for a second opinion and saw a differant rhemie, the first one I saw kept asking me what I wanted him to do for me!!! I now go to St Thomas` Lupus Unit once a year and see my local rhemie every 6 Months, please get a good friend or family member to go with you, write down questions you want to ask, and dont let them rush you, hope this helps and you get the answers you need and deserve, Jennyhe
Yes, go back to the GP as soon as possible, take a friend with you. If you have Lupus it is important to get on with your GP as they are the gatekeeper to other services.
If you don't get on, you have the right to change to another one. Either in the same practice, or if there is another nearby, you can change practices. Ask any friends who live in your area to recomemd a GP.
Curious to know how you got on....... Hope you are feeling stronger now and that you are receiving the help you need.
