We published a booklet on lupus and pregnancy which discusses taking folic acid before pregnancy, to read the booklet please click here lupusuk.org.uk/wp-content/u... - It is important to discuss this with your rheumatologist to ensure you receive the correct advice and treatment for a safe pregnancy.
I'm on hydroxychloriquine at the same dosage as you're on. I'm also on methotrexate injections. The methotrexate destroys the folic acid in your blood so you have to take folic acid tablets, therefore you shouldn't have any problems taking it. To be on the safe side you'd be best to check with your Dr first.
Yes I’ve taken folic acid and even had to take a high dose folic acid at one point after a fetal abnormality for the next pregnancy.
Check with ur rheum as I think I came off Hydrox whilst I was pregnant but I don’t think u have to I’m not sure? It’s always good to let them know u are trying as they will prob want u under obstetrics care as soon as possible
