Hi everyone, have any of you lupus friends suffered with bruises appearing. If I'd knocked myself Ye I'd expect a bruise, but I can honestly say I have not. Bruises on my legs upper and lower, on my arms upper and lower all around, my neck too.

Hi Bronn. 😊🌸🌿🦋

I’m concerned about all of those bruises. There are several things that can cause that. It would be wise to see the doctor to have it checked. Better to be safe than sorry as the old adage goes.

Best wishes for a good outcome.

Take care 😊🌸🌿🦋🤗💗😘

Hi Bronn

I'm diagnosed hypothyroidism, Sjogrens Syndrome, ?lupus.

I get occasional bruise usually close to my groin, or outer thigh. Really odd.

I am intrigued to know how you get on.

Because mine, are where they are, usually one only, I would feel embarrassed showing Dr.

I have one right now, this time, its towards outer top of leg.

I was once diagnosed low wbc count and low neutrophils. However, I can't remember if I had bruise then.

Hi Bronn - absolutely. Had this for years. And it’s not a bad diet! Just turn up anywhere. Very strange. Sometimes look like cyanosis or bloodclot but just one of those lupus type things I guess.. Be good to see if anyone else responds. My hand had one for a few days in between the thumb and forefinger on left hand (thankfully) as the result seemed to be the tendon(?) coming outside it’s usual place iwhich results in extreme pain like electric shock. Told my rheumy bout the fact i can’t open doors with it or do anything that touches the area and he found the lump explaining what it was - maybe the bruise I had was blood leaking out at the time the tendon was making it’s way “out”. But that doesn’t expain the other weird bruises... Aha.. just looked on line and it said easy bruising in lupus is due to increased number of platelets. I have low neutrophils so could be that? And there are tons of images on line for this. I hope it doesn’t bother you too much Bronn - I seem to remember people looking at me as if I have a problem in the past ie with my man! All the best, D

It makes you wonder whether you've knocked yourself, but I have bruises where I couldnt get them from a knock. Thans for replying ☹️

Let me know if you find out why it has been happening to you. May get my GP or specialist to investigate. Good luck.

Where i have the butterfly rash on my face, that also gets bruising and extremely uncomfortable and tender as if I have been in a fight! I have people staring wondering if I've been beaten up or something. Little embarrassing sometimes though lol

I get these mainly on my lower arms - not had for ages and now with the hot weather I have had them on both lower arms as if I have been beaten about!

Yes, I get bruises mainly on my arms and legs. Sometimes following a known bump with something but the bruise seems excessive, other times they just appear for no reason. The ones on my shins are the worst as they seem to 'stain' the skin so never completely go. Have discussed with the rheumy and practise nurse neither seemed concerned.

I have the same problem, from bruising too easily (literally someone poking my arm) to just bruises for no obvious reason, and I also have bruises that have "stained" - mostly on shins and knees. The rest of bruises tend to be arms and legs/thighs.

Thanks for your relpy, had the same response when spoke to rheumy nurse, you're on steroids it's to be expected, 1 nurse told me more things to worry bout than bruises. Ye I'm aware of that. In this heat though it's ridiculous to cover up and the looks I've been getting from passers by say it all, some look disgusted others you can see in their face,it's oh poor thing look. What with bruises and pupura I look like a battered housewife lol.

I know what you mean about the looks! But I'm not nor ever have been on steroids so its something else that's making it happen.
