Tried doing a little sewing the ither day and got so frustrated gave up. Whenever I try to use my hands on defined work my hands shake like crazy, even using my ipad to do this. Anyone else have this problem, Is it the SLE or RA? I don't think it's any of my other ailments. I like to make family birthday cards when i can but this is impossible.

Shaking hands
This sounds really hard to manage and I’m so sorry you can’t pursue these creative activities. Sounds like essential tremor to me but you really should report this to your GP or Lupus doctor.
I don’t have essential tremor but I seem to have a resting tremor instead. But when I posted about this a while ago many people said they have essential tremor. My GP has prescribed Propranolol but it doesn’t help me much - maybe because it is intended for those with essential tremor - so it might help you?
The national Tremor Foundation has a good website with more information about the various types of tremor and who can be affected. tremor.org.uk/
Thank twitchy, I'll mention it to my rheumy when i see her in 3wks time.
Hi Bronn, I have the same issues which are much much worse when I’m tired or stressed. It started years ago on right hand but now affects both but I’ve always put it down to just one of those things as I couldn’t face going. To the docs about it. I researched it a bit as I’m getting worse and agree it seems to be essential tremor and quite common. I’m now getting to the stage I think I will go to the docs and maybe try propanalol which Twitchytoes suggests. I don’t believe it’s anything sinister but it’s embartasing when eating out, using cutlery and it looks like I have the DTs, shaky left hand fork aiming for my mouth, not a good look! Forget writing when tired it looks like a spider has crawled over the page so I understand the difficulties you experience.
