Anyone get the shakes? Almost like I am missing something in my diet, vitamins. Took a mineral supplement yesterday because I was getting the shakes and irritability. Seemed to help. Wonder if my minerals are leaky gutting still, and my body is not absorbing. Wondered if anyone has dealt with this through digestive enzymes, which I have been taking for 4 months. Thought I would see some improvement by now. Thanks for any information....

Getting the shakes lately?

Natura,
If you are still outside of the remit of medical care. ie still self treating, I would be reading about juicing therapy.
Once you are on heavy duty drugs its more difficult to do as there is always the worry of side effects. But if you have not yet been picked up it might be worth a try, or at least reading about.
There are suggestions that juicing has reversed many cases of auto immune conditions. Its something that I am tempted by myself but I am already a bit locked in to the system.
I saw an earlier posting where you were concerned about B12. I have heard that you cannot overload on B12 as the body just excretes the excess thats not needed. So increasing B12 might help.
But there are many advocates of juicing as being something that can deliver a high quantity of micronutrients in a small package.
It might be something useful ???
Great idea overnight....I always wanted to do...a lot of work...I need a juicer too...will look into...thanks
There are many YouTube vids online that are quite inspirational with regards to juicing
Google 'Dave the raw food trucker' or Fifty, sick and almost dead'
I am not saying it will be the answer for you but who knows.
If you do give it a try, please report back on how you are getting on as I for one would be interested in possible outcomes.
Overnight...I especially like the fifty, sick and almost dead title. (Didn't look at yet) I am 51, and have been feeling this way...ha! I am going out today to buy a juicer. I have been wanting to do thisa long time. Thanks for the info. I guess some of us were born with vit deficiencies. No matter how well we eat, we might need more. Will let u know how I do. I have been feeling particularly bad the past few days with nerve pain, my left arm hurting and pain in my back-arthritis.. Hope this helps...
Actually I got the title wrong, its this one

and regards juicers this might be useful in informing choices

Note the bit at the end that suggests a way of using a blender if you don't have a juicer. It could be a short term solution but wont produce the same overall juicing quality.
I think foods in general have much less nutrient quality than in previous generations. That coupled with a busy lifestyle that may lead to skipping meals when the nutrient balance is already challenged, doesn't really allow much leeway between good health and chronic illness.
Overnighthearingloss....splurged and picked up a juicer. Was complicated. I thought I would just get a juicer, but found I wanted the fiber as well as nutrients and ended buying one that did both. I had my first drink of carrots, tomatoes, ginger, lemon, orange...was good. I bought a book with ideas. Not easy mixing veggies and fruit. I think u r right about the nutrition in our food not being the same as the good old days. Salesman said his mother has 5 cancers and he started her on juicing. Her numbers improved by 50%, and he lost 50 lbs. the juicer book actually mentions lupus and what would help. Interesting. I hope it helps as I can't seem to shake these shakes....my arms r like jelly today still...hope you all r having good days!

I get the shakes sometimes when I need to eat something....even if I ate just 3 hours prior...My Dad was like that too...might be low blood sugar.
I get the shakes when I am in flare, or when I've over done it, I even get them in my sleep. Unfortunately I have not been able to find anything that helps them.
I get really bad tremors when my steroids are on reducing dose. Seem to have slightly shaky hands most of the time now but have been on steroids since November, will be glad to get off them even though that's still months away (and only if MTX works, too soon to tell yet)
I have always believed I was hypoglycemic. Up and down. I did have something to eat when this happens, but not sure what is the best thing to eat. I need to do more research.
If you think its is because your sugars are low, you only need about 15g sugar from a good carb, but always have with a bit of protein too. A cup of milk, a yogurt cup, cracker and cheese, half an apple with a bit of cheese or peanut butter, lots of choices. It is not a meal just a quick pick-me-up until next meal.
I have read that if you think you may have blood sugar issues than be aware how many carrots you are juicing as they have a high sugar index in comparison to many other veggies.
However your juice sounded lovely.
I wouldnt advocate that you take juice alone as some in the videos have done without proper research. But to replace a meal with a juice or to use it as supplementary to you diet may be beneficial
Oh you mentioned potential kidney issues quite often. Watermelon is highly alkaline together with apples so they might be useful juicing candidates.
