Hi everyone

my son Fin is going to Spain in a week. Does anyone know if there is any issue with taking MMF a) on a plane and b) into Spain?

None of my family have ever travelled with medication so I am new to this!

Thanks and Happy Easter to you all!

Deegraham,

I take Mycophenolate in liquid form and the container is over 100mls, so when I went away last year for a weekend in Dublin from London I took a 100 mls container and decanted the liquid into it. I took my repeat prescription and my consultant’s letter with me. My advice would be to check with the airline and ask your GP about what the requirements in Spain are and what evidence you need to take with you to prove what you are taking.

Good luck!

hi MEW53 ... i am a qualified pharmacy dispencer with Lupus. You can travel with medication. Do get him to take his repeat medication list you can request a recent list from doctors or your nominated pharmacy. Make sure his medication is in original packaging. I have travelled with my lupus medication and controlled drugs so I don't think he will have any problems. Just make sure he takes a week extra just in case of any emergencies do occur. Hope this helps... wish him a safe journey.

Hi Lupielady45,

It was Deegraham who started the post so I was only passing on what had happened to me. Good to get the information from a pharmacy dispenser. Agree with taking a week extra that’s something I do too and take the original packaging and drug information leaflet with all the contraindications etc.

Hello, just wondered with your pharmacy link, what is the half life of IV methylpred? My son is competing at a world cup race 10 days after his methylpred that he gets with his IV rituximab. Methylpred is banned in competition so we need to know if it will be out his system well before ten days. Are you able to find out for me? That would be amazing if you could!
