Mycophenolate mofetil and needle pains
Just guessing: I’ve taken both meds and suspect that the pains you are having are due to stopping methotrexate injections. I doubt Mycophenolate would cause this side effect and will likely take 6-12 weeks to help. However stopping MTX could cause a bit of a backlash until the Mycophenolate starts to work.
Thanks for replying, yes that makes sense. I'll keep an eye on it
Did they start you on a low dose as you should build up slowly and the doc checking for any side effects
Hi Christineosh, yes the 1st week at 1 tablet, next week 2, then 3 then 4. I'm still in the first week. I just have have bloods after 2 weeks to check levels.
Hi Teanau22I've not taken methotrexate so can't comment on them, but have been taking mycophenolate for two years and haven't had those side effects. It's possible it's part of stopping methotrexate. It took a couple of months before I noticed any benefits from the mycophenolate, so try not to be dis-heartened. Good luck, I hope it helps you. Meg 😊
I can only say I have that feeling throughout my body! I drives me insane. Had it before hydroxy and new medicine too. I think it’s nerve damage from my Lyme disease or lupus symptoms. I’m sorry your feeling that way, perhaps ask your dr about it so I doesn’t get worse. Good luck!
Years ago I was on Methotrexate for a while and I remember I missed my pills one week. The pain in my arms was some of the most excruciating I had felt before and since then. I certainly didn’t expect it but I never missed again! My point being that many of these take time to leave and your body can have reactions to it. I’m on Mycophenolate currently and haven’t had that reaction. Definitely checking with your Dr.
