Hi I'm New, I have been wrestling with Lupus for the past 28 years.
For quite a few months now, I find that after exertion like mopping the kitchen floor
Or just gentle exercise or walking, my chest becomes very tight with a dull pain in the evening and next day. I have had some tests done, ECG, stress test, X-Ray and a scan.
All have been normal. Does anyone else have this problem?
Any advice would be much appreciated.

Unexplained chest pain seems to crop up here quite often. I've been admitted via ambulance twice with severe chest pain. The first time was unrelated to exertion, but had a worrying "crushing" nature. It resolved eventually after treatment with omeprazole, so the conclusion was that it was gastritis.
The second time was a sharper pain and decidedly localised to my heart, and I discussed it with my rheumy. He said he had no idea what it was, and if it got bad, I should present to A&E as an emergency and let them investigate. Not the most helpful. A couple of weeks later, I followed that "advice". No signs of a heart attack, so I was discharged with no further action. My suspicion is that it is an inflammatory symptom, probably some form of serositis (which can affect the lining of the lungs and/or heart). Other people here seem to get this or closely related things. Logically, steroids should help.
I don't know what yours is, of course. Ring 999 etc if you are worried. x
Sorry you have been feeling unwell. I too have had these symptoms before. I had had SLE for 18 years then due to this constant chest pains and when pressed upon pain occurred I finally was diagnosed with Fibromyalgia aswell, so the past 2 years have had to live with that too. Fibromyalgia masks a lot of the same aches and pains as SLE so the doctors always put my chest pains down to SLE until due to my SLE markers not showing up on blood tests yet I was still in so much pain, this is how I was finally diagnosed. Now I’m not saying that you could be the same and you should always get chest pains checked out immediately but it’s worth a mention to your doctor!
Please go to the doctor or A&E if these pains continue. I was recently admitted to hospital for 2 weeks after suffering severe chest pains and breathlessness. I've had ECGs, CT scans and an angiogram. The doctors suspected it was a minor heart attack / lupus myocarditis and that the Lupus played a key role. I have been given medication and an appointment for an MRI scan.
I also have this pain, I was diagnosed with lupus, fibromyalgia, and Sjogren's 11 years ago. This pain can come on quickly and can be Sharp, I have to take small breaths because if I breathe too deeply it hurts, lighrly pressing on my rib cage was also very painful. I had gone to the cardiologist because I was worried about my heart and after all the tests and nothing showed up he diagnosed me with costochondritis. It is an inflamation of the cartilage surrounding the rib cage. You should ask your rheumatologist about it or a cardiologist I was prescribed Colchicine 0.6MG one tablet twice a day.... Hope this helps.
