Hey guys so I was recently diagnosed with lupus.. Like last year may and it's been sort of tough because all some of my bloods don't add up to everything but I have a positive double stranded DNA.
Only recently I've been starting to get small tonsil stones in my mouth and I've realised that the top of my mouth is turning yellow and discolouring and I'm also noticing white leisons at the back of my throat.
I had a talk with my dentist and apparently these things occur with persons who have lupus but my tonsils are also discolouring and What not and everything is related to the lupus.
I'm only 19 and this is very very hard to comprehend. I was just wondering if anyone else had these problems as well?
Thanks for responding !!

I haven’t suffered from tonsil stones but I have suffered from yellow pallet and tongue 👅 and also lots of mouth ulcers and blood blisters. I find using Corsodyl mouth wash keeps these away, as well as oral thrush which is also quite common when taking steroids and antibiotics regularly. All nice subjects to talk about but this disease is all glamour you know!😷 Hope this helps for you as it did for me!
This article has a bit more information about tonsil stones and how to treat/prevent them - healthline.com/health/denta... - I hope that you find it helpful.
If you live anywhere near London you might be interested in our lupus support group meetings for people aged 16-26. They are a great way to connect with other people who understand what you are going through and chat about anything. If you'd like more information, you can find it at lupusuk.org.uk/lupus-in-you...
We also have a network of trained volunteer telephone contacts if you'd ever like to chat with someone in this way for support? If you would, just let me know and I can provide you with some more information.
Sorry for this late reply but yes, it's actually helped quite a bit. One precaution, using this mouthwash over an extended period of time causes altering of your taste buds so its recommended for the first two weeks ; everyday and then you start using it every other day until you finally taper off.
