I am somewhat new to this posting thing.. I am 30 years and was diagnosed with Lupus last year however, have been suspected of having SLE since I was probably 23 or there about. My mom had Lupus and then years later was diagnosed with 80 % kidney failure etc. I recently started hydroxychloroquine and have experience an overwhelming rush of side effects but what I am mostly concerned about is its effects on my menstrual cycle.... I'm late even ran out to take a pregnancy test (which was negative) since I was so scared I could be pregnant. But there are no valuable information about that drug and my situation. Also a week ago I was taking Prednisolone for 2 weeks... Can anyone shed some light to help ease my worries.?
Appreciate it.

Have you spoken to your GP or rheumatologist about the side effects you are experiencing?
According to The Lupus Encyclopedia, it is not uncommon for women who have SLE to have irregular menstrual cycles. These irregularities primarily occur when their SLE is more active and manifested by changes in how often they menstruate, how long the menstrual cycles last and how much menstrual flow they have. The exact reason for these changes is unknown.
