Well today has not been the best. Back at work this week after 4 months off with nephrotic syndrome and grade 4 lupus nephritis. Thought I was ready to go back. Clearly not. Although I'm still taking high dose mycophenelate and 15mg pred as well as ramipri furosomide hydroxychloriquine etc. Really needed to get back to normal. Problem is I'm a nurse specialist with my own patient work load. 1st patient I have seen today on my own and I had a panic attack!! A bloody panic attack. Heart racing, flushing shaking the job lot. Dam you LUPUS. You will not win. I love my job🙁 although sat here now writing this I don't know what to do. Blood pressure feels like it's back up to. Thanks for letting me let off some frustration

Crappy day
Can occupational health give you any advice about coping. It must be very difficult for you in such a stressful job . Sending you calming thoughts xx
That would be a good idea. Thank you. I will give them a ring. They have sorted phased return out for me and also I have reduced my hours and reduced the number of patients I see. So at least I have good work support. Thanks again for your reply x
So frustrating after you'd worked to get back to fitness. Occ Health is definitely good call. I'm sure you know all about it, but I did find that my having requested occ health consultations (rather than my manager telling me to go to them) made quite a difference in terms of their willingness to work positively and sensitively with me. That may have been just my impression, but it did help me stay positive. x
Hi Twad,
Sounds like you have quite a stressful, demanding job, you may find that mycophenolate will make you more tired, I know I get very tired on it. Contacting Occupational Health sounds like a good idea and a phased return.
Good luck.
Slowly slowly catchee monkey (not that I would harm a monkey!!) but the sentiment is right. We have to be patient with this disease or we go backwards quicker than we move forwards (well always seems that way to me). You must rest (feeble as that may sound) and you may be pushing yourself too hard. Be careful and good luck.
