Cold and in a lot of pain with the aching.

The last week has been awful with sitting in the house with the heating on and a fleeced jacket. Can't keep warm. The aching muscles and stiffness has got so much worse. My appetite isn't great either. Been to docs today as the naproxen not touching me at all. Been prescribed 15mg of codeine 4 times a day and if not helping take 2 15mg 4 times a day. Took one 15mg so far. About to take paracetamol now and a codeine at 6pm. Last codeine at midnight before bed. Can only get 3 in today. How long does it usually take codeine to work? Can't get comfortable or bloody keep warm. I suppose the damp cold weather isn't helping.

I haven't really timed it, but it seems to work fairly fast in the double dose. I was once prescribed 30/100 co codamol and could take 8 per day. Eventually I went onto BuTrans patches as the co-codamol only lasts 4 hrs and didn't take me through the night. , Pl double check it's codeine alone the GP has goven you, because co-codamol has paracetamol in it, and taking extra paracetamol is toxic to the liver.

If you can manage a warm bath, then dry yourself with a towel and hairdryer, then layer on clothes that have been on the radiator, this can help the warming up x

I will give 15mg 4 x a day a few days and if not working will double up. was sent to have blood tests done again so see what happens with that too. x

Yes I had this problem too. Luckily I wrapped up and got over the Aggie. Just a bad foot to contend with now.
