Heart failure

Hi just been to a & e as had terrible chest sin yesterday with vomiting. Pain then radiated to my back over night. Basically they did ct scan, a long with ecg, bloods etc. My heart is enlarged, and fluid in lungs!!! I'm in shock!! Went to The East Midlands Lupus day on Saturday ( brilliant by the way) they mentioned heart can be effected. I thought - thank god it hasn't decided to attack my heart! I was obviously wrong😞. They have sent me home to rest, on frusemide and got echo this Wednesday. I'm really scared!!! Seeing Prof De La Cruz 9th Nov xx

Hi the heart can be affected by lupus as mine was, however you need to wait for all the test results first to establish the problem. In my case it attacked the heart valve and I required valve replacement surgery last August. I am now fine and back running 3 times a week.

So try not to fear the worst and I am happy to chat about my experience of lupus and the heart if you need it
