hi. has anyone here had trouble in going to the toilet. I used to go regular as clockwork every day but now this is not happening. could it be something to do with hydroxy or prednisokone?

Hello mandypandy,

Although they both have a list of possible side effects as long as your arm, I don't think constipation is one of them! For me, I have to be a bit careful with my Zapain, which I take for pain, as this contains codeine and is well known for causing constipation. So maybe there is another culprit?! x

Hi. Yes I’m the same. Used to have no problems going now I need to take another tablet to help me go 😮😊

It’s so embarrassing isn’t it. I can’t blame my tablets for this, I’ve always suffered with terrible wind, gurgling stomach, heart burn and general uncomfortable stomach. The constipation is a new thing though . Try taking a mild relief tablet before bed, only when it’s at it’s worse though. Failing this. Get a dog and blame him for the smell, I do 🤣🤣❤️

lol. made me laugh. yeah, I have always been a farter lol but gurgling and wind has come back with a vengeance this past couple of days. I don't even want to go after a couple of cigarettes in the morning which is unlike me.

My husband is straight on the loo after his fag 😮 . Have you tried coffee. That may help . Sit on the loo with a coffee and a fag .

I think it’s just a concoction of medication. I’ve had to take prescribed anti histamines for my itchy skin, since then it’s got worse. I just take a laxative when really bad x

occasionally coffee does. I do take mood stabilizers and anti depressants for cyclothimia/bipolar. ever since I had salmonella while in Egypt and dysentery in India a lot of years ago, my stomach hasn't been right since. my friends know me so well and know what I am like lol.

Pred has a reputation for causing constipation - not sure about hydroxy.

I had no trouble until I took prescription drugs - now I am so sensitive even a cup of coffee stops my bowel movement, but I eat lots of fruit and whole healthy food and it does right itself, but I have to be very careful and I take no drugs now.
