Knee update

Well today’s the day that I go in for my knee op to try and repair some of the damage caused by AVN and falls. Admission booked for 12:30 so I’m just finishing my last drink and then it’s nil by mouth for me.

Nervous and excited too!

Thanks all. It went to plan today, so hopefully, if my recovery is uneventful, I should be in a lot less pain in a few weeks time.

Hope you are getting on ok. I too have AVN in both knees and need 2 knee replacements. It has also gone to my hips. My first knee replacement is a week Mon. Feeling very down and scared.

I’m sure once you get over the initial month or so post op, that you will get real pain relief. Do your exercises and be strict about the advice given and I’m sure you’ll be fine.

Painful joints become natural territory for us and messing about with them is bound to trigger anxiety. Good luck though

I’m non weight baring for two weeks and have Physio lined up on discharge. My knee is painful and swollen today, with a pressure bandage on and lev elevated. It’s early days but my instincts say it went very well. The team here have been fantastic, I’ve been having excellent care.
