SO I have had SLE for 7 years and never really any major issues. I was on plaqunil 200 mgs for the whole time and blood work was normal. Then I did labs and within one year the WBC count dropped from 3.5 to 1.5. The doc took me off plaqunil and tested me three times again for 5 months and the WBC increased steadily to just like 1.8. Has anyone been through this? Now I am on no meds : (

I get low white blood count due to my immune suppressant. They tell me reduce dose if it goes low. I'm taking steroids to and that's helping to keep it up.

Hello Jenny. I've had a low wbc ever since I was first diagnosed with Sjogrens Syndrome 17 years ago, and who knows how long before that. I've now also got SCLE and have taken hydroxy for the last two years. It makes no difference to the wbc - some times I reach the dizzy heights of 3 but it's usually 2 or lower. I just try not to think about it as there's nothing I can do.
