Hello, I am littlebiggirlygirl and this is the third time in about 6 months that out of thin air both my knees get fire not and not to touch but there is no pain or swelling and they turn fire engine red as well. Anybody experience this or something similiar?

Confused about fire not knees, no pain, no swelling, bright red, very hot to the touch.
Hi Littlebiggirlygirl.
My knees do get hot and feel as if they are burning, but I do have pain in them, and t hey feel swollen and very heavey, but don't look swollen. Mine can also at times feel prickly, stingy, which then leads to a bruise appearing in that same spot. Is this usual? I can't see it is as no one else on here seems to have mentioned it.

I'm not sure if it is unusual. I was looking for an answer as well. But I have no pain and no swelling at all. It just feels like im too close to a wood stove 27th just my knees getting the heat. And they are best red just around knee area. It's very weird.
Hello. I have had a burning sensation in both knees on and off for - well - got to be 2 or 3 years now. The burning sensation is a type of pain. I have mentioned it to my Rheumy and she examined me. My knees aren't swollen. I don't have RA. I don't think they go red - although I've not really checked. I have OA in my hips and slight OA in my knees. I think my burning pain in probably partly OA and partly lupus. Not sure I'll ever be 100% Certain about cause. Mention it to your Rheumy. You'll need a physical examination. Best wishes.
Yes I get the burning in my knees. It comes on when the Lupus is bad. So I thought it was that. I am going to hospital tomorrow so will ask. I have a whole list of questions. I always writ them down as I forget everything 😘
Hello! It might be a medication thing. I had this when I was taking Adalat/Nifedipine. Good luck!
My knees too often feel hot at times no pain or swelling just burning feeling inside.
got used to it now . Its not so much now i'm off the meds.
I get it exactly as you've described. I've had lupus since I was a child (I'm 40 now) and I get the burning knees as a sign that the lupus is flaring. It's not medication related for me.
