I am on methotrexate 15g by injection but my stomach is so bad gurgling and loose stools it getting so bad I don't know if I can carry on with it

Hi you should tell your doctor's about this , I was the same with methotrexate there are alternatives I tried azathioprine after methotrexate which also didn't agree with me they then put me on Mycophenolate which is a lot better I have been on that for years now , still have some stomach problems but not as bad as the others , what other medication are you on ?

I also wondered what else you are on. Interactions often have a lot to answer for.

Is the diarrhoea getting worse? If so I think you should tell your doctor as soon as possible as diarrhoea is one of the signs they mention that should be reported and possibly the mtx stopped or the dose adjusted to reduce it. It is associated with the mtx damaging the mucosa, the lining of the gut.

I hadn't had time to look it up before.

My dose has been reduced from 20 mg but it's still bad I am not taking it to nite gona speak to my nurse
