I have various illnesses. Under rheumatology. Diagnosed with vasculitis and urticaria. Have bloods done every 2 weeks. Had raised inflammation markers. This week have had bright red patches on wrists hands and face. Have now got pin prick spots in these areas

Hi kings

I hope you're taking & dating photos of these signs & symptoms for your personal log & to show your doctors. Photos are invaluable. I bring my iPad with pics to every Rheumatology clinic...my consultants always are keen to see him

Are you diagnosed with lupus?

vasculitis & urticaria are a constant feature of my version of lupus. My vasculitis is apparently relatively mild, but my daily therapeutic oral combined therapy lupus treatment plan fits in with the British Siciety of Rheumatology's Lupus Care Guielines as indicating moderate disease activity.

If I had rashes like those you're describing I'd take photos & let our lupus specialist nurse know promptly. At the moment, Rheumatology has me applying prescription topical steroids to my vasculitis rashes (first I try betnovate at basic strength, and move in to the stronger strength if required, and then move on to dermovate if really necessary but by then Rheumatology would've had a chance to advise alteration of my oral meds)

Take care

Hi. I have many photos that I show my rhemotologist. My latest outbreaks have been really bad on my face. Nobody has ever mentioned Lupus to me at the hospital, although friends and family have asked me this before.

👍👍👍👍

If you do ask Rheumatology about lupus, hope you'll let us know what the consultant says

Am guessing you've found the HealthUnlocked Vasculitis UK community forum: it's excellent

I definately will do. Urticaria was diagnosed 14 years ago. Every week had to go to haematology for bloods and see doctor would adjust meds accordingly. I have quite a long medical history. Stroke at 37. Polycythemia. A/f. Scoliosis. Degenerative spine. Just live in constant pain, but do try keep up beat about it 😌 Was at a&e last night because lump came up on my neck with bright red rash around it. Gone down today but tiny pin prick blood spots where lump was. Have got to see reuhmatolgy tomorrow morning. Thank you for getting in touch and will let you know the outcome. Take care xx
