Does anyone know if on an ANA DNA Test if UI OMS is the same as IU/ML

My ANA was Positive

My Anti DNA said 25 with no reference range and was measured in UI OMS but if its the same as IU/ML then thats positive as it should be below <20

Usually there is some indication of whether or not it's raised above range by bold print or < or > even when the range isn't stated? The alternative is to ask your GP - even if over the phone?

No Nothing

All I can find is on my last test IU/ML >20 was positive

This just says 25 UI OMS

You will need to ask whichever doctor commissioned it then. Sorry can't help.

I don't understand how anti dsdna is worked out but I think there must be different ways they do it . I have read something that said anti dsdna 2++ and someone on here said their anti dsdna was 3.8 , those results don't make sense to me . When I was diagnosed I was told a normal person who does not have lupus will have about 7 anti dsdna in their blood and I think a result over 9 shows lupus , I had 120 in my blood . I have always been told my anti dsdna as a number my latest result 2 weeks ago was 83 . I hope someone on here has the answer to your query .

Me neither, but thank you for coming back to me

I had an Anti DNA of 25 UI OMS

ANA 180 (so Low Positive)

Thyroid antibodies in 1000's (should be below 80)

Vit D Not Readable

Lymphocytes so Low

Inflammation to a point I cant walk yet my ESR was only 1

I have every Lupus symptom you can think of and am totally housebound yet can not get any Doc to help, they just say Im a medical mystery, so I gave up trying 3 years ago as after a 10 year search I could not get help. Am thinking of trying the doc in the video I posted as no one in UK will give me answers.

I flare so bad in the sun and I have scars on my arms from the rash's even a little sun gives me a rash and symptoms go off the scale and if my face sees the sun it goes bright red, I ended up with horrific Acne Roscea which I know is not a Lupus rash but I also know thats Autoimmune and recently my RA Factor was just borderline

where to go......who knows

No not yet, but I have just been in contact via email with my USA PCP who I had before mu UK GP and he has explained my test and it was positive (it was overlooked on the NHS)

So my result was

ANA 180 Positive (weak antibodies)

Anti DNA 25 IU OUS (should be below <10)

Now interestingly he says that on an ANA run in the UK which is done in IU/ML your only positive if you are above 20 yet in the rest of the world your positive if your above 10

So my doc just confirmed via email

Usually anti-DNA antibodies are reported in IU/ml (international units per ml)

≤4 IU/mL Negative

5-9 IU/mL Indeterminate

≥10 IU/mL Positive

Not what you're looking for?
