Hi there, I'm new to this forum and just wanted to ask a question. I was diagnosed with Hashimoto's last July and am now on levothyroxine with bloods in normal range. About 3 days ago I woke up with a painful bruise on my upper arm which is purple/red and looks almost blotchy under the skin. I don't remember hurting myself but I am quite clumsy and do bruise easily. When I woke up it was really sore, almost muscular pain so I'm sure I'd remember hurting it. Should I be worried about this? The doc said I should look out for symptoms of other auto-immune diseases and read this could be a symptom of lupus? I should also say that I still feel shattered and fuzzy too. Thanks in advance.

Unexplained bruise

Hi Polly2501,
Welcome to the LUPUS UK Health-Unlocked Community!
Have you discussed your bruising with your GP yet? It is advised to speak to a health care professional as they can ensure you receive the correct help and treatment.
There are many possible causes of bruising in lupus which can vary from low platelets, overlapping conditions and side effects from certain medications. It is advised to discuss symptoms with your doctor so that they can investigate the cause and potentially make changes to your treatment if necessary.
Muscular aches and pains as well as extreme fatigue are both common symptoms of lupus. To find out more about lupus and the symptoms you can download or request a free information pack at lupusuk.org.uk/request-info....
