Has anyone else on here been diagnosed with low or zero haemophilus antibodies with their lupus?
Haemophilus antibodies: Has anyone else on here... - LUPUS UK
Haemophilus antibodies
Hello again budrick...am so glad of your news. When immunology investigations began on my case 2 years ago, Immunology found I too had no haemophilus & no pneumonia antibodies and was highly at risk.
Since then I have failed to produce pneumonia antibodies in response to both versions of pneumonia vaccine, but, luckily, I have been able to produce "just enough" haemophilus antibodies in response to haemophilus vaccine. So, hang in there...try to think positive...while you wait to see how you respond to vacc
If you don't make antibodies, there are various v effective treatments immunology can give us ongoing. I'm doing find on daily antibiotics indefinitely, and have been given clear guidelines for his to deal with breakthrough infections (longer course higher dose oral antibiotics, with a low threshold for IV antibiotics should oral not be effective within 3 days)
You are not alone in having the unusual combo of autoimmunity & immunodeficiency (independent of immunosuppression treatments). I know several others like us. Our conditions can respond ok to management

I was told I had low hib antibodies. Have they suggested boosting them with an injection. Sometimes if your at risk of infections they will give a booster.
I got hib pneumonia years ago. It coincided with me starting to do the respiratory checks at work which included spirometry and peak-flows
