Confused : I had a ANA of 1.80 but all my test are... - LUPUS UK
Confused
Hi dalollies
I have had positive ANA( don't know the pattern or level) for thirty years with other tests negative and lots of symptoms. What it means is that there's definitely something wrong with your immune system without being specific for lupus. I've got a diagnosis of UCTD as a result !. I hope your Consultant is willing to keep an eye on you for changes like mine has.
Hope that's helpful. X
Hi Dalollies ,
Are you just being seen by your GP at the moment, or have you been referred to a rheumatologist for further investigations? It is worth pushing for this referral so that you can be seen by somebody with more expertise in autoimmune conditions.
If you need more information about lupus and how it is diagnosed, we have a free pack which you can request or download from our website at lupusuk.org.uk/request-info...
I have been sent to a rheumatologist who had more blood test ordered which were all negative. My only positive has been the ana.
Do you know which other tests the rheumatologist requested?
Did they suggest what could be causing your symptoms if it isn't lupus? Are they seeing you again or were you discharged?
I have had these test done...CREATININE, BLOOD, GFR, ESTIMATED (EGFR), SERUM., CPK CREATINE PHOSPHOKINASE, C3, C4, CENTROMERE B AUTOANTIBODY, IGG, DSDNA AB, IGG, QN, SERUM, SCL-70 AUTOANTIBODY, IGG, SMITH ENA + RIBONUCLEOPROTEIN ENA, QUANT, SERUM., SJOGREN ANTIBODY PANEL, CCP AB, SERUM., RF (RHEUMATOID FACTOR), SERUM., RF (RHEUMATOID FACTOR), SERUM, C-REACTIVE PROTEIN, QUANTITATIVE., CMP, SERUM OR PLASMA, CORONARY RISK PANEL, SERUM., ESR (ERYTHROCYTE SEDIMENTATION RATE), BLOOD.,..I know this is a large list!! Everything is normal. I see the rheumatologist on the 21st of this month to see what's next if anything. Thank you for helping.
Hi Dalolollies
Like you i have the malar rash and have postive ANA but not as high as yours and all the other blood tests were negative too. Ive not been referred to a rhuemi but my doc has said she will be keeping an eye on it! i feel rubbish too but i do have other issues going on too like low thyroid, low progesterone and low cortisol which i'm trying to address so this for me at the moment has been put on a back burner but if you dont mind i'd like to follow your post to see what you find out as there must be an explanation for the rash if its not lupus.
