As most of my friends here know, I have had to spend most of my time taking care of my Mom & Dad, so I have not had much time to do anything. It puts a strain on Laura and I also, but she is wonderful and helps also. Mom and Dad are steadily going down hill. My BP is still up and down, and from the photo the Lupus rashes/blisters are still there also, and still have to go barefootπ£ (I've been barefoot for 2 years why change now). It is Mid September here in the southeastern part of the U.S. And temperature is still over 90 degrees Fahrenheit! (Still barefoot weather). Weather predictions are, it should be in the mid 80's by October?
I just wanted to check in with all of you, and let you know I'm still here. I'm not ignoring y'all just that life has been hectic the last couple of months. I am still thinking of all of you and I wish you all the BEST!
Hi Tiras, so good to hear from you. I went through similar emotions and stress with my parents, so understand how your feeling. I for one miss your cheerful posts & am grateful for your update. Your time with your mum & dad is precious. My thoughts are with you and your family, takecare Tiras x
Hello Tiras, I am glad you checked in, I was thinking of you a lot this week as I sat with my father in hospital. He has severe Alzheimer's Disease and spent most of his hospital stay either sleeping or "driving lorries", ( He is always working, albeit within his own world!) Thankfully he has improved slightly in a physical aspect after antibiotics for chest infection, but like your mum & dad he is slowly ebbing away. I always think as individuals we are so varied, yet humankind is so alike in the vulnerability of illness & how fragile the strong can become. That old saying 'your health is your wealth,' certainly rings true. I write this in an accepting, reflective, philosophical way rather than as a negative factor.
Take care, I hope you get a little time to rest those hard working feet. Very Best Wishes to all, Pixiewixie
Thanks for checking in, Tiras. I've been thinking about you lately and image how efficient these times must be for you. I'm glad to see your spirits are as upbeat as ever. You positive attitude always gives me hope and reminds me to count my blessings when the days are tough. I wish you strength and peace.
Thank you Happy, please continue to think and pray for us! I know I have not replied or even had time to like comments. I hope everyone understands. Y'all are wonderful here on this Commuinty supporting each other!
How good Laura and you are to your mom and dad. I have continued to pray for you and your dear parents, especially because I haven't heard from you lately.
Living in St Louis where it's still 90 degrees every day, I have noticed that the sun is now lower in the sky and feels less penetrating in its heat. My lupus rashes have improved. I hope yours will, too.
I'm getting lots of nice kale from my tiny garden. I find it very bitter. My husband doesn't like it either, so I feed it to my daughter's pet rabbit. I put my tomatoes in late this May and they are just beginning to ripen. It was a lot of work trying to keep even a small garden patch watered this summer because of the heat! I watered three times a day whenever I could. Amazing how the ground is so dry even when the air is always soooo humid!
I will be thinking of you and your parents this week.
Thank you for your thoughts. It is hard for me to find anytime to reply and or post lately. My garden is gone. I had no time to keep it up since July, and then the dry weather here didn't help and I wasn't here to water it.
Yes it is still very hot here in Alabama also. Still over 90 on most days. It is supposed to be in the mid 90's this coming week!
Dear Tiras, Thank you also for your thoughts & prayers. Please take a little space for yourself just whenever you can, a chance to breathe & replenish a little of your energy. Ironically I too must remember to practise exactly that. How often I forget to practise what I preach! You take care, thinking of you & your family, Pixiewixie.
