I dare say you will need some English in your apprenticeship but if it is hands on, it will be probably specific to your plumbing, aircraft design, whatever anyway so dont worry too much. Try to read a bit on your work journey more, that always helps.
Now I know language is the one they label but to me to be able to understand texts, using a myriad of skill, imagination and emotion and to translate that into your own words is a far more complex and telling skill. Too bad. Any chance you can re take it? Oh and I dont think a d is a fail (correct me someone) it may not be the required grade for something but you didnt fail it!
See if you can take it again. You got your maths, thats way harder. Ask about it, pity to miss out when you are so close, and yes it does sound like the job for a compassionate young woman like you.
It's as a teaching assistant at a school for children who have physical and neurological disabilities .
I know that if I didn't have lupus I would have gotten better results . When I started year 11 I found out I had lupus . I didn't care about the GCSEs as I Didn't care about life .
I know if I didn't have it I would be able to become an elderly carer liked I wanted . I would have properly gone to 6th form - as I would have had the results to get in
That sounds ideal for you - you have experiential knowledge that will make you a very valuable member of staff and I hope it all goes well for you. My step-grandson rather bombed his first year A level exams - all U's - and he had no excuses at all except he didn't work enough! You at least have a good option - being an elderly carer is VERY physically demanding.
Well done for getting results and not just throwing it all in after diagnosis.
I am sure with your get on with life attitude you will do well in your apprenticeship. Looking forward to updates from you as how learn and enjoy your role.
Well done. I'm very impressed that you didn't chuck it all in as many others would have done without the health problems you've been dealing with. It shows some real determination to get on in life, and that's something they don't give grades for. There will be plenty of A* students without any of your strength of character.
Well done! You must be pleased to have passed some key exams. I really don't think you should give up on your dream job. You have so many choices and possibilities - go shine!!!
Well done to you. I never got any GCSEs when I left school, but I have tried to be a nice caring person, and at 77 I have a good circle of friends. We have met every Thursday evening for the last 23 years and knit, natter and put the world to right. I am sure with your personality you will succeed in all you do. Good luck xxx
Well done loulamb for your GCSE results. A triumph as you've had lupus to cope with as well!. As the others have said shame to miss out on English Lang as you passed lit and maths which are much harder!. Worth asking about a re-sit or see what your apprenticeship says. Good luck for it, you'll be such an asset as you want to help people and make a difference. X
