Lupus rash questión
Oh, you poor thing, that looks very painful. Is it the sun or a contact allergy?
No advice, sadly, except perhaps a cold wet cloth to take the heat out and an antihistamine.
Take care.
Hi mystikrane
That rash looks very painful. Are you under care of a Rheumy or Dermatologist?. Are you due to see them?. Might be worth trying to bring appointment forward specially if rash is spreading as your treatment could be adjusted or try your GP first for an anti histamine. Hope it settles soon. X
Ouch! That looks very similar to what I have on the bald patch on my scalp. I'd recommend showing that to your GP or rheumy. I have to keep mine covered as the blisters popped so wear big plasters ( i hasve to get it redressed daily at the doctors) and wear pretty head scarves but all they've given me to take is pain killers!
Hope you get some relief soon xxx
OUCH is right. I've been getting these all my life...no picnic...for my version of this, medics are always telling me to try not to burst the bullous bubbles...when I have burst them, they have spread...I try just to let them run their course....but I always take pics now..
so please do contact your GP at least, & your rheumy &/or Dermy too
I get this despite sunscreen...the rashes come just from hot ambient temperatures. I think my oral lupus meds really have damped this predisposition down, but I still get my version this now & then even so
For my version of this, the strongest version of the prescription topical steroid betnovate is what I'm told to apply...ever so carefully...but I have had to resort to the most strong topical steroid dermovate recently for this on my face (eg this summer, but the bullous bubbles were vvvv small)
Glad you're taking pics 👍👍👍👍 Hope you'll let us know what your Drs say...I think our tiras the BFG has a somewhat similar version in which the 'blisters' can be vvvv big
Take care 🍀🍀🍀🍀 coco
Hi Mystikrayne ,
I'd like to repeat the recommendation of many of the members here and urge you to go to your GP or consultant. They will hopefully be able to advise on any potential treatment and preventative measures. Please be careful of your risk of infection if any of these blisters burst.
Praying for you. My rash is different, but discloid lupus is difficult to heal. My doctor couldn't give me anything specific. He told me to go to a dermatologist?

I have these type blisters on my right foot. However the blister I have do not hurt. I also have had a lupus rash for 2 years on my right foot also. This is why I have to go barefoot and I have had to go barefoot for the last 2 years.
I have a cream and ointment that my dermatologist has prescribed for me to use.
I hope you get better.

if I spend more than 30 minutes in the sun I get this....I think it's just a reaction to the sun for me. I've had this happen my whole life....even had this blistering on my face around my lips and on my scalp. I feel for you! there's not much you can do except try not to pop them or scratch them especially if you're on immunosuppresants which can increase your risk of infection.
