Anybody suffer from allodynia - pain from stimuli which aren't usually painful such as light touch? I answered a post on this a couple of weeks ago and I have it pretty bad at the moment. Getting dressed/undressed is partiularly painful and it feels like you are touching a bruise but there is nothing there. Anybody got any tips?

Yes. I have this. I only get it on my back. I can't even wear a bra or have any clothes on. It is the most awful pain. Heat helps . X

Yes! I have it constantly, over almost my entire body, some areas being worse than others - it really is frustrating. Especially when it's so bad, clothing hurts, or my SO tries to rub my arms or back etc, and I yelp out in pain. I haven't found anything that helps it, unfortunately. But I have heard that there are a number of medications/creams that do relieve that pain. I'm hoping to try some of these options soon. I also find it best to wear extremely soft, baggy clothing when it's particularly bad, but that is about it. I would suggest talking to your doctor about it, as they could probably point you to some options. I'm sorry that you're struggling with this, but I know for me at least, it feels a little better knowing that others struggle with it too! I hope you find something that works, educk!

Thank you both. It seems to come when my other symptoms are worse so hopefully it won't stay too long. Yep I agree with baggy clothing - taking skinny jeans off was not fun!! I'm currently between consultants because I have moved to Cardiff for university but hopefully I should have an appointment soon 😊

I have very tender patches on my legs near knees. I use a foam roller to get rid of them daily.

I should add that when I get up my whole body doesn't really work. I can barely walk and after using the roller and a yoga hedgehog - blue dome covered in spikes of plastic - I can walk! It's very sore but relief follows.

I get this occasionally with migraines. It's really hard to explain. Skin just feels really tender - a bit like it has been bruised. It stopped when I knocked myself out with painkillers and slept for 12 hours straight.

I do too. It's soooo annoying (and painful!). I also have hyperalglesia (amplified pain response to something that shouldn't be too painful). I asked my pain doc about it and he said both are seen in Lupus and CTD patients. It's the minority of us, but not uncommon.
