Ooh, they look sore? Hope you've made appointment to see what doc says and get something to put on them. Our bodies react in such peculiar ways!

Seen Dr. I've got betnovate cream, Dr also took a scrapping to send of, he thinks it's lupus rash, as my face a mess with butterfly rash which is angry just now to.

Yes I get these also. Nothing one hour, then rash next hour. I get them on arms, I'm a guy I also get them  on and around privet areas, & feet. They do not burn or itch just show up! I have had some of the lupus blisters also, come from pubic area to upper thigh, some of those have left scars. I have also lost body hair, I have no body hair from from under arms down, I have no pubic hair, nothing on legs I don't even have hair on my toes. Doctors tell me it is from lupus. (On a lighter note, my wife says the body hair loss is the only thing she would want. No more shaving she says)

Poor you also, yes they don't itch just there, but embarrassing. Dr gave me betnovate, and took a scrapping to send away. All the best to you.

I would say get it checked out, but from my own experience doctors are as baffled as us these days.  I have rashes on my fingers - itchy, bleeding and we have been having a gas works detoxification all winter quite near within  a mile, I am wondering if, because I do the garden, (although I wear gloves, but this wouldn't stop all contamination),  it is some form of reaction to it.  I expect you are reacting to something - it is knowing what and how to eradicate it. Good luck - at least you say it's not itchy - one good thing.

I was prescribed betnovate cream for my fingers years ago, but then it stopped working - I was prescribed another cream which was the base of all creams, can't remember the name and that helped - something like a placebo effect, I guess, but then it stopped being available.  Hope yours clears.

My skin rash is still spreading rapidly, betnovate not done anything like you said with yo u r rash. X

The cream I was trying to remember was ultrabase.  I went into the chemist and asked, but they have to order it.  The pharmacist suggested diprabase, but when I got home I found it had lots of nasty ingredients - like paraffin, sodium hydroxide (I think this is caustic soda-help! couldn't put that on my skin), so wasted my money!

I am  now putting olive oil on nightly to see if that helps and the itching and bleeding is improving, but know I have a way to go yet.  Some say coconut oil helps, but I muscle tested that and my muscles were weak - should have tested the diprabase!

The olive oil seems to stop the skin drying out so much and lessens the redness and itching.  I knocked one of my fingers as you always do when something is painful and it bled, but is improving now.  Hope yours does, too.

Hi, not sure there is something called Pityriasis rosea, look under nhs.uk/Conditions/Pityriasis-rosea if not try dermanetnz.org/viral/pityri...

If you have had a cold, cough, sore throat or upper respiratory infection can be linked to systemic symptoms.

Good luck and hope you feel better soon Molly.

Hi molly19,

Have you discussed this rash with your doctor?

If you would like more information about skin involvement in lupus you can download or view one of our booklets at lupusuk.org.uk/wp-content/u...

I know about those I have fist sizes on several parts of my upper shoulder blades, back of neck, scalp and peel like snake skin, feel like needles from the pain and itch like crazy. I brought some Vaseline Intensive care deep healing serum lotion it help keep the dryness give moisture to my skin. But that only a temporary release.

Hi Molly! I don't have lupus but I had the exact same rash on my arms and legs, itched like crazy and the lesions kept increasing 😖 I went to all sorts of doctors and got all kinds of diagnosises! Turned out, I contracted a fungal infection from my new pet cat who had bald patches. If your doctor can't find a reason, you should talk to your dermatologist about it. Good luck n hope you recover soon!

I have a rash/bruises like this too! Started taking methotrexate 6 weeks ago and doc thinks it could be caused by this, called Steven Johnson syndrome. He's speaking to a dermatologist and getting back to me. I don't think I can add a photo in a reply but the start as a red blotch, then turn into a red target circle and purple in the middle. Hot to touch and sore like a bruise. In the meantime I have to stop mtx.

X

I'm so glad mine don't itch, but yes they start like a small dot and grow then the central part changes colour, I've had lupus since age 14 , now ( 53 )  on prednisolone, azathioprine, hydroxyquine, vitamin D.   Thank you for your response.  X
