Gluten free also help
Not sure, as I was gluten free for many years due to coeliac disease, yet still fairly symptomatic of lupus. My symptoms tend to be mild though, but that's more to do with me having MCTD.
Maybe in a non coeliac lupie, there would be an improvement!
Hi firdos,
A gluten free diet may help some people with manage their lupus (most likely those with an overlap of coeliac disease or a gluten intolerance) but this diet may not be suitable for everybody. It is important to remember that lupus is a very varied condition and what works for one person may not work for another, or could potentially be harmful. There are certain risks with a gluten free diet, so we would advise people to discuss it with their doctors before starting and get expert advice to ensure they are getting all of the nutrients they require.
