Hi, hope you are well. May I ask why you have stopped medication and does your rheumy know? I suspect the majority of members on the site will advise against stopping until you have spoken to rheumy as you could start with a flare and become quite ill. If not already done so please speak to medical professionals as to why you have stopped. I personally would not take the risk.
I have moved n I haven't got to see a doctor here n it's to Hard find one or go to the right place. probably two months now with no meds...
Hi Jo_25,
As jayfer has mentioned, it can be potentially dangerous to stop your medication because it could start a flare in addition to some potential withdrawal side-effects. Have you not been able to register with a new GP in your area yet? You can find more information about registering with a GP here - citizensadvice.org.uk/healt...
Are you able to phone your consultant's secretary or a rheumatology nurse to see if they can arrange a prescription that can be sent directly to a local pharmacy?
You will get a possible flare so should be monitored by your dr
I stopped some of my meds as I was getting fed up taking them and thought they were not doing me any good. Unfortunately it accellerated my Lupus quite significantly and I learned a huge lesson - since then I've never ever missed a tablet. Although, at the time, you feel there will be no consequences, unfortunately there are. You may need to chat to a counsellor about why you have done this, it helped me a great deal. Speak to your GP who should be able to refer you, if not your Lupus docs may be able to help.
