Fed Up And Stressed...

I have Lupus SLE with RA and Raynauds overlap.

I've had a cough for over a year.

Chest X-rays were clear but CT scan has picked up nodules in my lungs.

I've been referred for further tests.

I also suffer from Trigeminal neuralgia.

You couldn't make my luck up lately.

Worried about these nodules more than anything else at the moment.

Has anyone else had the same problems?

I hate being ill, I don't have time for it I'm a carer to someone with more Heath problems than me..

So stressed out..

Thanks in advance x

So sorry to hear how stressed you are,I totally sympathise with you .I care for my husband who has multiple illnesses,it's like we can't be ill but like you I have a multitude of things wrong with me- lupus,Sjorgrens, fybromyalgia, osteoarthritis, osteoporosis, angina etc.A few years ago I was told I have lesions on my lungs due probably to previous pneumonia and pleurisy so no further action was taken.I hope there is a simple answer as to why you have nodules, all my best wishes to you, take care xx

Did the consultant say what the nodules are or are you waiting to see him? I had nodules in the large intestine but it was inflammation caused by lupus, my understanding that this is quite common to get nodules?! I too have a permanent cough and had a cat scan two years ago, I have scarring and was given a diagnosis of fibrosis.

It is hard when they use words that could mean they might have found something 'nasty', I hope it's not too long before you get an explanation and treatment if needed. X

Hi Tots38 and welcome to the LUPUS UK community.

I'm sorry that you've been experiencing this. If you'd like a free information pack about lupus then you can send off for or download one from lupusuk.org.uk/contact-us.

Additionally, we have a booklet called 'Caring for Someone with Lupus'. While the booklet primarily talks about how to look after someone who has lupus, section 3 talks about the needs of the carer which might be an interesting read for you. You can find this booklet on our website here: lupusuk.org.uk/publications.

I was told I have nodules on my lungs but was told by my specialist that until they reach a certain size they are not a problem! I also have SLE, Fibromyalgia, Pleuritic and respiratory problems, Sjogrens, Reynauds, Migraine and LADA (latent autoimmune diabetes in adulthood). I have an annual chest CT to check the nodules so might be worth finding out how big they are and can you have annual check ups?

Hi Tots38, I also have lupus SLE and trigeminal neuralgia although my consultant doesn't think they are linked - just unlucky coincidence! ~Can't help you with the nodules I'm afraid but if you need it at any time, there is a chat forum on patient.co.uk for people with trigeminal neuralgia.

Not what you're looking for?
