Hi Samaka,
Unfortuantely, LUPUS UK are not medically trained so we aren't able to advise on this matter.
Does your consultant believe the atonic bladder to be connected to your lupus? It might be worth asking them whether this treatment will work with your bladder.
George
Hello Samaka,
I have an atonic bladder, it has not worked properly for 10 years. It started after a large bowel operation which obstructed and I think the nerves to the bladder were damaged.. I hope you have been referred to a urologist, if not, you need to see one.
I have noticed on this website that a lot of people with lupus have urinary problems,
so perhaps there is a link?
I had 2 lots of Rituximab, and didn't notice any difference at all, but I was referred to
immunology, and told that my immunoglobulins were very low, and I would have to have 3 weekly infusions for the rest of my life!
Since then I have had a huge reduction in urine infections, so I think my immune system is struggling to work again, thats good!
I hope you get some answers soon as bladder problems are not nice and are a constant worry when out and about. Best wishes.
