SLE is a kown cause of CRVO. Has anyone else been diagnosed with this and had eylea injections?
Central retinal vein occlusion: SLE is a kown cause... - LUPUS UK
Central retinal vein occlusion
I was diagnosed with a retinal occlusion a couple of years ago. I did not think it was a symptom of lupus but I should know better! (I tend to blame everything on lupus so why should that be an exception?) My understanding is that the veins are like the branch of a tree and once the circulation stops to the branch or twigs, it is gone forever, irreversible. As mine was minor, and with no symptoms, I would not have known about it if i had gone for a routine eye check up. I received no treatment. However, i have a family history of glaucoma and macular degeneration so I get a bit twitchy when an eye examination is due. My late father had Lucentis injections in his eyes for AMD so at least if there's any bleeding there is a treatment. I don't know about Eyelea I'm afraid, but good luck! Sight is so precious.
As gillw says, sight is precious. I don't know what CRVO is, but I lost the sight in one eye after something burst behind my retina, fluid accumulated behind it, and then the retina detached completely. No-one knows why it happened. But it did, and very quickly in a couple of weeks. I had surgery to try to re-seat the retina, but that didn't really work. Adapting to life as a cyclops is real difficult. Don't take any chances.
