I have started taking Quinoric (hydroxychloroquine sulphate) and have been told if I suffer any visual disturbances at all to simply stop taking the medication. Apparently, there are no ill effects to dis-continuing the treatment.

Hello. Yes, I have been told to stop taking it straight away if there are any problems with my eye sight. Seek medical advice ASAP - you would presumably be prescribed an alternate drug. I think I was told that if you stopped taking the hydroxy quickly enough you can avoid any lasting damage. You should have a base line eye test before starting to take it. I have been on it for 20 months now - 2 x 200mg a day - and have my eyes tested every 6 months at the moment. Are you worried about your eyes? Have you started taking it?

As Wendy39 has said you must have base line eye test before treatment, I've lost sight in one eye and damage to the other,I,v been told it's very rare to have such a bad reaction ,but the damage is permanent take care
