Does anybody have colitis?

My GP thinks I may have it,just wondered what your symptoms are and what treatment you have for it?

Yes I have colitis. Symptoms are watery diahorria ,pain & You can have bleeding too There is many forms of it. I have microscopic colitis. You really need to have a colonoscopy to really be diagnosed. The treatment is steroids . What are your symtoms ?

I have ulcerative colitis with similar symptoms to Tremarel but can add bleeding, mucus and pain with the diorrhea. Treatment is steroids or immunosuppressives. As Tremarel says can only be diagnosed via a colonoscopy as there are several conditions it could be. Hope you don't have it and good luck.X

I manage it with diet. I was on steroids for 6 years for asthma when, thanks to a naturopath I found out it was allergy to dairy causing the asthma. However, the steroids damaged my health and caused hair loss amongst other symptoms. I find bananas especially help to settle the colitis, although I get inflammation throughout the gut so it is Crohns's - all the same sort symptoms though.

Drugs have just caused me more problems than they have solved so I look to natural remedies now.

Mucus and blood in stools is what I've had,also needing to go a lot and very loose with cramping pains as well.My bloods came back as inflamation level high plus white cell count high,but that's not unusual for me.I handed in a stool sample on Friday,so will wait and see what comes back about that.

I'm already taking steroids,have been for 19 years now

I've also got to have camera,both ends.Was meant to have the throat one done by now but had to cancel last one as I was in hospital with meningitis.

Had to cancel today as not got a very good day,really couldn't face it at the moment.
