Virus,skin eruption.

October 3 2013.I had just completed 18 holes of golf,and on the drive home I had unexplained joint pains which had not been present while playing.

Following morning woke up with sore throat,enlarged glands and a raised temperature.Seen by GP,adv chest infection and put on antibiotics.3 days later covered in large blisters,some bloody.these blisters became bulbous? Unable to get shoes on and only able to wear very loose clothing.feeling very ill.

Will not go on as this is a very long story. taken to A and E one sat.commenced Prednisilone.Eight weeks later sent to Dermatologist at St Mary's hospital Portsmouth.Biopsies taken,chloroquine,Prednisilone commenced.Two months later diagnosed with Sub Acute Lupus Erythematosis.

I'm now under the care of Rheumatologis in QA hospital and St Mary's dermatologist.

My care could not be better.I have now started to play golf again after 20 months.

You have been through a rough time Meggie, but it's wonderful that at last you are reclaiming your life! I bet you had a big smile on your face going around the golf course, these things seem so much sweeter when they have been denied for some time. I'm delighted for you ⛳️😍

Thank you Bronagh.its like I've been to hell and back !!! Serious fatigue catches up with me when I have over done it. Hope you are ok.?

Oh I know that awful fatigue it is impossible for other 'normal' people to understand it! I got lupus when I was 29 some 20 years ago and it's been a bit of a roller coaster ride over the years, with some really good times and some really horrendous times, but I have lived to tell the tale! I'm on the big guns of medications now and they bring with them their own problems but where would we be without them?? my life is different from what I had planned but sure that's ok 😀

Hi Bronagh.since your reply I have had to increase my steroids from5mg to10mg because I was feeling so dreadful ,painful muscles,fatigue and brain fog,even had to come off the golf course after 15 holes exhausted on Tuesday. Consiquently did NOTHING yesterday .Getting to sleep is a very big problem.!!!!
