Hi all, I was told by my specialist nurse I've been tested Ro antibodies positive (which can cause congenital heart block if I have children). Can Ro antibodies be life threathing if one day I need blood transfusion? 😳
Ro antibodies positive. : Hi all, I was told by my... - LUPUS UK
Ro antibodies positive.
I have this and have never heard of any issue with transfusions. I also have 3 very healthy children, all born since I was diagnosed...so don't be put off having children because of this. I had heart scans half way through pregnancy to check.
I have ro positive antibodies too and have two children who have no heart abnormalities.
Hi I also have Ro antibodies, but was never told anything about congenital heart block, however I was told it means I could develop Sjögren's syndrome which I have now.
I have lupus and the rest and I am RO positive and my child was born with congenital heart block he now has a pacemaker fitted and Leads a normal life
Hi
I have two healthy children, when I was pregnant I got fetal heart monitoring on a regular basis I was told about congenital heart block so the monitoring was reassuring,I am RO positive. My GP terrified me by saying my children should be monitored for cardiac abnormality.I asked my consultant and was told if they have no symptoms their is no need. They are now 24 yrs and 18yrs and have no health issues.I hope this puts your mind at ease,I never heard of problem with transfusions.I hope this helps .
