As someone with severe Lupus and as the daughter or a very well known hypnosis practitioner (in his day) I know that it would help with the stress side of things.

I actually tried my first hypnosis session two weeks ago .It was mainly for stress and depression due to always feeling trapped in an ailing body.

I am extremely drug sensitive and even milder drugs like Amytripryline cause massive heart arrhythmia.

Appart from only narcotic painkillers and some steroids and nexium for stomach and my beta blocker for heart I can tolerate nothing else.

Hence I rely on codeine and morphine most of the time which is not ideal.

I also have chronic pancreatitis and chronic biliary inflammation so I can eat very little food. Often I go weeks on porridge and stewed apples and that really gets me down as I have to feed the rest of the family nice tasty , normal food!!!

Some spells I really get down about the food as it end up as no fat at all and virtually no protein, even the vegetable kind.

So with much scepticism I thought I would try this well respected hypnotherapist.

The result was quite amazing, yes I still had my biliary pain and other issues but I felt so much calmer and more positive. I began sleeping through the night every night since and this has been after months of poor sleep.

I did not feel strange or out of myself at any time during the treatment and am having another session next week.

In other words, I thought it amazing and should be offered to everyone with chronic illness free on the NHS!!

So good luck with your course Kirsty, I am sure you will be able to help your friend which would be wonderful! C x
