Swollen legs but only on.8mg of prednisone, is this common ?
I find exercise helps, power walking or just walking, low impact gym work, cycling. If nothing else it makes u feel better. Also I take ibuprofen if really necessary and keep legs raised as much as possible.
I was told by the Rheumy nurse that my swollen legs were due to water retention in turn caused by inflammation. My steroids were increased and they went down again. I could barely bend my legs!
For PMR, I am on 8 mg. of prednisone, reducing by 1 mg. per month. No problem thus far--
I have tremendously swollen feet and somewhat swollen legs. For both, I have tucked a pillow up under the foot of the mattress so it is raised above my heart level. In the morning the swelling is always WAY down, thankfully.
Give it a try--I don't see how it could be harmful. Meantime, best of luck, Barbara
