Hi
Where do you live/work? Are you sure it is Hep A and not Hep B?
In Hampshire defiantly hep a
Well. I'm not sure why you would need Hep A for occupational reasons. It's not a live vaccine and as long as your not on the likes of methotrexate, large amounts of steroids to suppress the immune system it should be okay. If your in any doubt though ring your consultant.
Hep a is usually for travel where you might be at risk from contaminated water and food, especially sea food and people with poor hygeine handling your food. You will need 2 injections 6 months apart for long term cover of over 20 years
Hep b on the other hand is given for occupational purposes. It's not a live vaccine either
Thanks. That's really helpful. Xx
