Anyone tried a Alpha Stim micro current machine for pain? Or the Pain Master? Or tens?Feel like I might as well chuck my wallet into the road because this Lupus is costing me a fortune!

My Dad swore by his Tens machine, he said it made a big difference to his pain.

I'm not sure bout the above models but I use a TEns machine (for quite a few yrs) currently got one from Lloyds Chemist (one with 4 pads) or Boots do them too.

I have found them very useful & can help to relieve the pain/tender points when bad. Should use frequently to keep discomfort to s minimum !

Hope this helps

In addition to lupus, I have a tear and bulge in a disk which made pain unbearable. I started going to acupuncture, then got a tens unit w/ 4 leads from my physical therapist. The combination, after 3 weeks, has me moving again. And while I'm not 100%, it's tolerable now till it (hopefully) heals.

I brought my Teens machine from Lloyds chemist around £10.00 I use it when my spine block where's off but if you are in pain all the while go and see your GP and ask him to refer you to the pain clinic at your local hospital I go every 3 months to have a spine block { injection of steroid } in to my spine

Thanks for the responses. Tens works then. But micro current units also reduce inflammation which apparently Tens does not, so I'm keen to find out if anyone's actualy experienced the difference. FWIW I've tried the actipatch electo pulse unit and couldn't really tell if it made a difference or not.

My new TENS machine is FANTASTIC!!!!!!! It works. I was in the grip of back spasms for two days due to stress and literally couldn't even turn my head or bend slightly. But the TENS has allowed me to move around. Thank you thank you people!
